Technical Considerations

When i listened for the firs time about DivX i was a littlebit skeptic. I thought it was possible to drag completely a DVD in a CD-ROM, keeping almost the same video and audio quality. Soon after interested in this phenomenon broadened by the net, i started collecting data looking for information on internet. Up to some time ago the number of sites sayingsomething about compression video "MPEG4" was vwey reduced but in spite of this i found the software with which i made the first tests using a little English guide.

After almost a week of tests i dragged my first DVD, bought at the price of € 35,00.

The result was surprising: the video quality was perfect and the audio even if it passed from 5+1 to only 2 stereo channel, was true to the original. More than 2 hours of film which in DVD occupy about 7 GB were driven in a 80min CD-ROM.

The only bad side of the situation was time: i spent six hoursno stop to finish everything even having a system quite powerful.

In spite of this i decided to carry on this new Codec, making an internet site entirely dedicated to it because there are still pew italian sites which explain in detail how to execute the proceeding and give the software. I hope this site can help You understanding better how it works with less problems i had.
